Hero ways,Zero Waste!        Our environment is such an important factor in our life sustainability. It provides us food, shelter, clothing, and medicine. However, due to our excessive consumption of natural resources, our environment has been deteriorating and crying out for some help because of to much waste that it can no longer contain.       As an inhabitant of this planet,do you exactly know what is going to happen if this world will be full of different waste products? Are you ready to face the consequences of our cruelty of our environment? If not, then what are you waiting for, be a hero in your own little ways to make this world zero wastes.      As one of the few billion people of this blue planet, which is the Earth, here are a few of the things that I can contribute to help make this world zero waste, the 5Rs: 1.✓ Refuse You will have to minimize the waste production by refusing to use materials such as single-use plastics...

Mothers: Angels in Disguise

Mothers:Angels in Disguise     If there is that one greatest responsibility that a woman could have in this world, that would be motherhood. A chance to bear a child or children to become future of this physical world.     It is therefore right to give them honor and appreciation for their unconditional love and sacrifices for their children and their families. Let's let them know that we also care for them. Mother's day celebration during the month of May is only for the purpose of a unified worldwide appreciation for all the mothers all over the world, but appreciating a mother should be done every day. When they cook for our food, we should always thank them. When they clean our house or do the laundry, let's appreciate them. Our simple gesture of appreciation would definitely lessen their burden form doing house choirs, and even their stress from work if they are working moms.     Our mothers are blessing from God. We should love and care for them a...

The Cross that Saved Us

For Catholic believer like me, Lenten Season is such an important time to observe. This season is not only about abstinence and fasting, but it’s all about remembering how Jesus suffered and died on the cross to save us from our sins.    Jesus could actually choose to save his life from death. If he wanted, he could have let us suffer from all the sins that we have done. But he did not do it. The mere reason why He gave his life for us is because He loved us so much that He took all the sufferings until his last breath to save us and continue to live until we acknowledge all our sins and repent.    Reminiscing how Jesus suffered on his way to Calvary carrying a heavy cross is really heartbreaking. That is why we should take some time to pray and thank Him for what He has done for us. During the season of Lent, we should strengthen our faith in Jesus. Let us all acknowledge our sins and begin to change for the better and follow the teachings of God.  ...

Mean, Median, and Mode

Image
Thank God! The third quarter of the current school year is almost over. More and more knowledge I have gained. Every subject, there are new lessons that I have learned. But what challenged me the most is our lesson of research (finding the mean, median, and mode).  I had difficulty understanding this lesson because we were not given much lecture about it. It was really challenging to learn this lesson off-site because there is not teacher to answer our question right away. Good thing we have an easy access to the internet. I was able to find video clips from YouTube that can help me understand the lesson on how to find the Mean, Median, and Mode. It’s really hard to study our lesson if the guidance of the teacher is limited. But the best thing that I can do to at least comprehend to every lesson is to ask for help from the right people and to be resourceful, especially that we already have an easy internet access. Get that Jab, Kid!

For almost three years since its detection, Covid-19 virus continues to be a threat to everybody. Our lives have not been back to normal, and it’s not sure yet if when the pandemic is over.  In our country, the Philippines, our government has been doing its best to control the spread of the virus and eventually to put an end to it. According to the Department of health, a big number of the population aged 18 up were already fully vaccinated, some even already had their booster shots.    Last February, the health department of our country has already started the vaccination of minors aged 5 to 17. This is actually a good move because once the children have gotten their shots they don’t need to stay at home most of the time. Some schools in the country also have already resumed their on-site learning but not yet in full swing.    Parents should encourage their children to get their vaccine because it can help them build resistance against the virus. ...

They Fought Up to their Last Strength

Draft no. 3 (The Fall of Bataan)     They Fought Up to their Last Strength The Fall of Bataan is a historical event that happened in our mother land during the World War II. A lot life, especially on the side of the Filipino and American fighters were wasted because they were over powered by the Imperial Japanese Army.  After reading about this battle, I really felt sad not because the group of the Filipino and American soldiers fought while they were starving. It’s like they were in a double war. A war against the Japanese Army and the war against hunger. If only the reinforcement arrived, the result of the war could have been changed. The ending could be in favor of the group of the Filipinos and Americans not for the Japanese invaders. After the Fall of Bataan, around 63,000 Filipino fighters and 12,000 American fighters surrendered. These thousands of captives had to undergo the so called Bataan Death March, wherein they had to walk for a long mile starving and ...

Bigueños’ Celebrated Christmas amidst the Pandemic

Bigueños’ Celebrated Christmas amidst the Pandemic  Christmas is surely one of the most anticipated and celebrated holidays not only in the Philippines but all over the world. People, especially Catholics spend time preparing for the birth of the Messiah, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Here in Vigan City, despite the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, we have our fair share to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.  Just like the previous years, the Bigueños started the preparation of Christmas on the 1st day of September. Local radio stations begin to play Christmas songs to remind the locals that the birth of Jesus is fast approaching. Each household starts to put up their Christmas tree and decorates their houses with Christmas ornaments and sparkling lights. Everywhere you go is decorated with either red or green, which are the most common Christmas colors. Thank God, because, before the exact day of this most special day, the Covid-19 restrictions were a bit loose. The Big...
